“Let It Go, Girl! — The Real, Raw, LOL-Honest Journey of Forgiveness

😂

A blog-style article from Apostle Cheryl Weaver — Your Internet Chaplain & Mental Health Coach

Forgiveness always sounds like a soft worship song floating in the background while angels hum in harmony.
But in real life?
It feels more like spiritual CrossFit: sweating, stretching, and trying to breathe through emotions that aren’t cooperating.

This is your real, relatable, Spirit-led roadmap to letting go — with honesty, humor, and healing.

Let’s walk it out.

💦 Step 1: The “Holy Sweat” Moment

The offense comes out of nowhere — sharp, shocking, and deeply personal.
You’re minding your business and suddenly WHAM!

Your emotions jump into a full cardio workout.
Your first thought is usually unholy.
Your second thought is,
“Lord… not today. Please.”

This is where forgiveness begins — at the doorway of discomfort, where the sting is fresh and your flesh wants revenge.

🧘‍♀️ Step 2: The Deep Breath of Grace

You inhale.
You exhale.
You refuse to react from the wound.

Forgiveness isn’t based on emotions — it’s based on obedience.
It’s faith over feelings, surrender over self-protection.

You’re not excusing the pain.
You’re choosing healing.

🔓 Step 3: Releasing the Chains

Here’s where you begin to unclench your heart.
You start handing the offense back to God — even if your voice shakes.

You don’t have to feel holy to forgive.
You just have to be willing.

Something begins to shift.
The weight loosens.
The pressure lifts.

🙏 ✨ Step 3.5: Standing in the Gap — My Coaching Trademark

This is the sacred moment that makes my coaching ministry unique.

Sometimes you never get the apology you deserved.
Sometimes the person who hurt you can’t — or won’t — acknowledge what they did.

So I stand in that space with you.
I speak the words your soul needed to hear to heal.

“It’s me — Cheryl.
I’m standing in the gap as your coach today.
And I’m asking your forgiveness for how I hurt you…
for what I didn’t see…
for what I didn’t understand…
and for the pain you carried alone.
I was so very wrong.
And I am deeply sorry.”

This isn’t pretending.
This is Holy Spirit healing.
This is mending the fracture so you can finally exhale.

When that apology lands — even symbolically — chains break, tears fall, and the soul releases what it was gripping too tightly.

This step is part of my calling — creating closure where none was offered.

🎯 Step 4: Moving Forward Without the Old DVD

This is where freedom becomes real.

You stop replaying the moment.
You stop scripting imaginary conversations.
You stop rehearsing the wound like it’s a movie on repeat.

You hit EJECT — and you mean it.

Forgiveness doesn’t rewrite history.
It releases you from being stuck in it.

You walk into tomorrow with peace instead of poison, clarity instead of clutter, and strength instead of heaviness.

💖 Step 5: Walking Free — The “Let It Go, Girl!” Moment

This is when you realize:

  • Forgiveness doesn’t make you weak — it makes you spiritually dangerous.
  • Letting go doesn’t release them — it releases you.
  • Freedom feels better than bitterness ever will.

You can breathe again.
Laugh again.
Live again.
And your heart is no longer held hostage by what happened.

This is where destiny starts roaring louder than the hurt.

🌿 Final Word: You Deserve This Freedom

Forgiveness isn’t for the faint of heart — it’s for those who want the fullness of God.
It’s a brave act of spiritual maturity.
It’s the doorway into peace, healing, and emotional rest.

So, hear it again in love:

Let it go, girl.
Your future is too important.
Your peace is too precious.
Your calling is too powerful.

And you’re not walking this healing journey alone — I’m right here, standing in the gap with you.
