The Night the Roar Began

The Untold Story Behind the Laughing with Lions Premiere

Most podcasts begin quietly. Ours began with a red carpet, a live audience, and a spiritual assignment. We didn’t pick October 31st because we love that date. We chose “the 31st” because we refused to surrender that night to fear, darkness, or culture.

Instead, we filled it with laughter, deliverance stories, prophetic words, and a roar that reached from Decatur, Illinois to the Philippines, Texas, and beyond - live.

🌍 A Red Carpet, a Late Night, and a Global Room

The room was full, but it wasn’t just the room. From the stage, we welcomed people watching from:

  • The Philippines
  • Dixon, Illinois
  • Austin and Dallas, Texas

And other places tuning in online as the cameras went live

A red carpet stretched across the front. We joked about doing a runway walk because if women are going to heal, they might as well look fabulous doing it. There was laughter about “tall hair anointing,” “heavenly hair,” and the old saying: “The higher the hair, the closer to Jesus.”

It looked playful. But underneath the jokes, God was setting the stage for something much deeper.

🎭 Meet the Coach and the Comedian

We introduced ourselves the way Heaven framed this show:

  • The Coach – an apostolic, mental health, biblical and professional life coach
  • The Comedian – a minister with a sharp wit, contagious joy, and a testimony of radical deliverance

We told you up front:

This podcast is for the silenced, the searching, and the called. Two prophetic voices. Two inner-healing mentors. Two sisters in the roar—committed to walking with women who refuse to stay bound, silent, or small.

💧 Lisa’s Why: Deliverance in a Bathroom

Lisa shared her why first. Not from a pulpit. From a bathroom floor—28 years earlier. She talked about a night when someone told her she had a choice:  “You can have the path Jesus has… or you can keep going the way you were.”

She described two weeks of wrestling:  “Devil, if you’re real, you can’t have me. Jesus, if You’re real, You need to come now.”

And then—He did.

Fear broke. Oppression lifted. Depression and anxiety left.

She said people asked if she’d joined a cult because she had so much joy. But it wasn’t a cult. It was Jesus. Real Jesus. Deliverer Jesus.

From that bathroom forward, her why became clear: “My big why is to see others delivered and set free—and to tell as many people as possible that Jesus is real, personal, and still heals.”

🌿 Cheryl’s Why: A Mother’s Near-Death and a Generational Call

Then it was time to go deeper. Cheryl’s why didn’t start in a bathroom. It started with a little girl—her mother—five years old, abused from age 5 to 16.

Her mother died at five, went to Heaven, and sat on Jesus’ lap. And there, Jesus gave her a choice: “You can stay here… or you can go back. If you go back, your children and your grandchildren will change the earth.”

Her mother chose to come back.

She endured years more of abuse so that one day Cheryl could sit under bright lights, on a red carpet, and tell women:

  • Jesus still heals abuse structures.
  • He still breaks generational strongholds.
  • He still turns trauma into testimony.

For 25 years, God has been teaching her how the enemy builds his kingdom through abusive systems—and how to tear those structures down so generations can be free.

That’s not entertainment.

That’s a war mandate disguised as a podcast.

📖 Isaiah 61: The Roar Word of the Day

We shared our shared prophetic call:

Isaiah 61 women.

“To proclaim good news to the poor. To bind up the brokenhearted. To proclaim freedom for the captives. To comfort those who mourn. To give beauty for ashes.”

This isn’t just a favorite scripture. It’s a job description.

Laughing with Lions isn’t about noise. It’s about freedom with evidence.

🔥 Prophetic Roar: When the Podcast Turned into Ministry

Then came our favorite part:

The Prophetic Roar.

In the room that night:
A young man named Luis was called out as a “double agent”—a stealthy runner carrying the Word of God like secret letters in the night. Where he once felt insecure, God called him a secure agent, a messenger, a deliverer of truth.

A man in a Nike hat was told he had businesses in his belly—that God would multiply what he stewarded well and that “there’s more in your future, and that more will multiply.”

A quiet cake maker was told her baking carries a spiritual assignment—that God uses her cakes to fill bellies and hearts, releasing freedom around those she blesses.

This wasn’t just content.

It was activation.

Heaven was marking ordinary people with extraordinary purpose—in the middle of a “podcast premiere.”
